Print Wraps : Millers Lab
March 23, 2011Taking photos is my passion but when clients get their images blown up to hang at home, that really makes the my job worth every penny. I’m excite about this new product that Miller’s Lab came out with, Print Wraps. It’s printed on photographic paper and laminated with a mounting block on the back, extending the print away from the wall, looks like its floating on air. My favorite sizes are 10×10, 10×20 and 16×24 on Metallic photographic paper. Go big or go home.
Lancaster City Engagement Portrait : Anne and Joe
March 14, 2011You might remember this lovely couple Anne and Joe. Last year in April I photographed their engagement session at the Fulton Theater. Well they’re so awesome, we decided to hit the mean streets of Lancaster City for more photos, King Street to be exact. I love getting to know my clients, makes shooting the wedding more meaning full. I’m very excited for May 14th, wedding at Country Barn in Lancaster, PA.

Happy Anniversary : 7 Years
March 13, 2011Happy Anniversary! 7 years, time flies when you’re having fun. I can remember the first night I met you, on the dance floor at Fat Daddies in York. You’re smile is still the same, perfect. Your cooking gets better every day, I don’t know how you come up with all those recipes. Your abilities to find deals still astounds me, I feel like I’m robbing the store when we’re done shopping. You still make me smile everyday. And a big Thank You for sticking with me. I wouldn’t be the self made man that I am today with out a great woman behind me. I love you!
Advice to the Engaged
March 10, 2011
My fiancé and I recently got engaged this past February. We are getting married June 2012 and have started planning already. A main topic of discussion (compromise) for us is the wedding budget. Naturally, we discussed wedding planning tips/ideas with his sister who got married in April 2009. Like every other couple, we are looking for ways to reduce our costs. After the conversation with his sister one thing I would not limit myself with is a good photographer. She is still waiting on her wedding photos nearly 2 years after she got married! I am no photographer but I know it does not take that long to get photos. My fear is that they lost the prints. My advice to couples is to choose a photographer based on their reputation and recommendations from previous clients. I would not risk losing the memories of a lifetime to save a couple of bucks. Unfortunately in this case, you do get what you pay for.

Photo Tip : Why Resizing your Photo is Important
March 5, 2011Have you ever gotten your pictures printed as a 4×6, 5×7, or 8×10, only to find that someone or something was missing? We assume that pictures are ready to printed right from the camera, but this is false. Pictures must be resized before they can be printed.
If you were to print right from the camera, it would not fit in a regular 8×10 print. A photo lab would size it to fit, but they don’t know what you want cropped out and what you want left in the photo. As you can see, the 8×10 image in the middle is boxier and has lost the majority of the sky. This will be the case if you would like it to fit a regular frame. Your other option is to size it so that it keeps all the details but will have a white border around the image when framed.
Harrisburg Wedding : Erinn and Tim Album
March 4, 2011Being able to tell a story with my photos make it worth it. My approach with any wedding is to capture everything: details, emotion, and good portraits. I shoot for the album. This amazing album was designed by Oneleven Creative.

Bridal Shoot : Lititz PA
February 26, 2011A few weeks ago we were in Lititz for Second Friday to promote the upcoming bridal show, Legacy of Love Bridal Faire. My idea was to get a model in a dress, walk downtown Lititz and take some photos. I guess we created such a buzz that Channel 8 News stopped and interviewed our model Katrina. On a side note: it was pretty cold and Katrina took one for the team. Here are some of my favorite shots from the night. Big thank you to all shops and restaurants for being so supportive. Extra thank you to Cafe Chocolate for letting us get ready at their place.

One last shout out to Kate Shirk, photo student from PCA&D, for letting me use one of her images for a textured file. I love the swirls.
Happy Valentines Day
February 14, 2011Happy Valentines day to you from me. I hope you spent the day with your loved one. Check out the heart shape pancakes Heidi made me. Very tasty.
Pennsylvania College of Art and Design : Guest Speaking
February 11, 2011I feel honored to have been asked back by Matthew Lester to speak in his PCA&D digital photography class. His class was great, really made me feel welcome. Super intelligent questions and very eager to learn the business side of photography. They all have the fire for photography and I wish them the best.

Here’s a photo Matthew took of me. I don’t know what I’m doing with my hands. Maybe fireball?
