Have you ever gotten your pictures printed as a 4×6, 5×7, or 8×10, only to find that someone or something was missing? We assume that pictures are ready to printed right from the camera, but this is false. Pictures must be resized before they can be printed.
If you were to print right from the camera, it would not fit in a regular 8×10 print. A photo lab would size it to fit, but they don’t know what you want cropped out and what you want left in the photo. As you can see, the 8×10 image in the middle is boxier and has lost the majority of the sky. This will be the case if you would like it to fit a regular frame. Your other option is to size it so that it keeps all the details but will have a white border around the image when framed.

March 5, 2011Harrisburg Wedding : Erinn and Tim Album
March 4, 2011Being able to tell a story with my photos make it worth it. My approach with any wedding is to capture everything: details, emotion, and good portraits. I shoot for the album. This amazing album was designed by Oneleven Creative.

Photo Booth : Bare Skin Care and Laser Center
March 2, 2011It doesn’t matter if its a wedding, bar-mitza, sweet 16 or even trade show, the photo booth is perfect for any event. This past weekend we were at the Day of Dance event by Memorial Hospital. Bare Skin Care and Laser Center, one of our favorite clients, utilized our services for their booth. I love their branding.

Bridal Shoot : Lititz PA
February 26, 2011A few weeks ago we were in Lititz for Second Friday to promote the upcoming bridal show, Legacy of Love Bridal Faire. My idea was to get a model in a dress, walk downtown Lititz and take some photos. I guess we created such a buzz that Channel 8 News stopped and interviewed our model Katrina. On a side note: it was pretty cold and Katrina took one for the team. Here are some of my favorite shots from the night. Big thank you to all shops and restaurants for being so supportive. Extra thank you to Cafe Chocolate for letting us get ready at their place.

One last shout out to Kate Shirk, photo student from PCA&D, for letting me use one of her images for a textured file. I love the swirls.
Photo Booth : Cork Factory Hotel
February 22, 2011Congratulations to Lisa and Daniel. They got married this past Saturday at the Cork Factory Hotel Lancaster, PA. Their wedding was low key but elegant. Lisa’s idea of pulling nature into an indoor venue was awesome, birds nest and twigs. Their eclectic style even made it over to the photo booth. Fun colored mustaches and custom photo booth layout matched the entire wedding theme. It really made their wedding unique and memorable. I look forward to seeing the photos taken by Cathie from BG Productions, very nice wife and husband team. And big thanks to Erin March our past bride who now works at the Cork Factory Hotel, great wedding coordinator.

Food Trucks : 2011 Wedding Trends
February 18, 2011Crepes. Food Trucks. Weddings. I love all three and now YOU can have a crepe food truck at your wedding. Mobile food is a huge trend happening all over the country and Rachel’s Cafe and Creperie has been on this from the beginning. Imagine what a huge hit they would be when they serve their fruit smoothies at your summer wedding and their steak and eggs at the after party. I’m excited that Rachel’s will be participating at The Legacy of Love Bridal Faire on March 6th.

February 14, 2011Happy Valentines day to you from me. I hope you spent the day with your loved one. Check out the heart shape pancakes Heidi made me. Very tasty.
Pennsylvania College of Art and Design : Guest Speaking
February 11, 2011I feel honored to have been asked back by Matthew Lester to speak in his PCA&D digital photography class. His class was great, really made me feel welcome. Super intelligent questions and very eager to learn the business side of photography. They all have the fire for photography and I wish them the best.

Here’s a photo Matthew took of me. I don’t know what I’m doing with my hands. Maybe fireball?

February 9, 2011Edit Tutorial : Cloning Photos
February 7, 2011People run late all the time and think nothing of it. And when they miss an awesome group photo, they tend to want to kick themselves. A professional knows that both photos need to be properly lit and the subject posed in the same manner. If you don’t know what this means, check out the video below.
