This year for Valentines Day, I wanted to do something different. Instead of posting images of roses and chocolate in the shape of hearts, I wanted to share with you real PhotOle love. I asked past clients Elise and Blake to answer a few questions about their love. I wanted them to write the first thing that came to mind and they weren’t allowed to share their answers. So in honor of all things sweet and true love, here are their notes.

When did you meet?
E: We met in Psychology class at HACC in 2005.
B: The fall semester of 2005 in a Psychology class. But started dating September 7th.

What’s the best piece of advice you gave each other?
E: Live for today because you never know if tomorrow will come.
B: She has always encouraged me to try harder than I want to and achieve more than I think I can.

What are your favorite activities to do together?
E: We really don’t have any activities we do together, we are both really busy with school and work. Now it’s hard to find time for “activities”. Unless you count running errands then we do that all the time : )
B: Watching TV and running errands together.

What’s one thing each of you knows about your partner that no one else does?
E: Now if I said what I knew, then I wouldn’t be the only one who knows anymore.
B: Nothing; she is an open book; true to herself in front of all.

Any sweet nicknames?
E: Blakerd
B: Sweet heart and honey.

What quality do you love most in your partner?
E: He listens to me and helps me to become a better person than I would be without him in my life.

Without saying it, how does your partner show you he/she loves you?
E: The fact that he puts up with my crap!! : )
B: By staying with me.

Growing up is fun. I remember sitting in French class with Jay and watching the Simpsons with Callie’s older brother and occasionally she would sit and watch. Fast forward 5+ years ahead, Jay and Callie get married and I had the honor of being their photographer. What a great wedding at Lancaster Country Club, fireworks and all. Now 2011 and I have the privilege of photographing their first baby. Meet Clara, super cute girly girl with eyes that could light up a room. Her parents are very lucky to have a baby this adorable.

I’m happy to have a job and be my own boss. But I’m super blessed to have such great accounts, example Harrisburg Christian School. The students there are always positive and they welcome me every year. Just recently I ran into a past student from Harrisburg Christian School at a cafe, she told me that she remembers me taking photos when she graduated. What a great feeling to have made a tiny impression on person.

I’m mighty lucky to have couples who let me be me. Meet Joe and Anne, they got married on May 14th at St James’ Episcopal Church on Duke and Orange Street. Anne and Joe shared a first look before their ceremony started. Joe’s smile set the tone for the day after he saw his bride to be in her gorgeous dress. Picture after picture, I knew the day was going to get better. Awesome shots at Market, vip access to Fulton Theatre and fun wedding reception at the Country Barn. I love being me.

Congrats to Justine and Matt, two amazing people who were determined to hire me. I’m super flattered that they picked me as their wedding photographer. I didn’t know much about them but I knew there was something I really liked about these two. Their friends and family confirmed it on their wedding day. Their description of them were true, two fun loving people with free sprits that were so into each other. Great combination for marriage.

Allison and Josiah really have that chemistry that every photographer looks for. They made a walk around the block of Chestnut Street very memorable. Thank you.

I had the pleasure of photographing my local SCORE mentors and SCORE supporters at their golf outing. If you don’t know what SCORE is, they are national not-for-profit association of business people who provide free and confidential business advice for entrepreneurs.

Music is definitely for everyone. I had the pleasure of photographing a great event where Music for Everyone was giving away giant checks to deserving schools and non-profits who keep music alive. In between the check give away students from local schools preformed, which was awesome. All this happened on a First Friday in Bins Park Lancaster, PA. Also the music in the slideshow is from their volume 2 CD, Music For Everyone.

Baltimore has been a place I called my second home, not because I love crabs or Mr. Yogato or mustaches. It’s because of these two love birds, Jamie and Lucas. Every time Heidi and I go visit the Charm City, I feel like we have family to go see. I can’t believe it has been 3 years since we first met and photographed your engagement photos. I truly cherish our friendship. Congrats on your wedding.
