Photo Tip : Why Resizing your Photo is Important
March 5, 2011Have you ever gotten your pictures printed as a 4×6, 5×7, or 8×10, only to find that someone or something was missing? We assume that pictures are ready to printed right from the camera, but this is false. Pictures must be resized before they can be printed.
If you were to print right from the camera, it would not fit in a regular 8×10 print. A photo lab would size it to fit, but they don’t know what you want cropped out and what you want left in the photo. As you can see, the 8×10 image in the middle is boxier and has lost the majority of the sky. This will be the case if you would like it to fit a regular frame. Your other option is to size it so that it keeps all the details but will have a white border around the image when framed.
Bridal Shoot : Lititz PA
February 26, 2011A few weeks ago we were in Lititz for Second Friday to promote the upcoming bridal show, Legacy of Love Bridal Faire. My idea was to get a model in a dress, walk downtown Lititz and take some photos. I guess we created such a buzz that Channel 8 News stopped and interviewed our model Katrina. On a side note: it was pretty cold and Katrina took one for the team. Here are some of my favorite shots from the night. Big thank you to all shops and restaurants for being so supportive. Extra thank you to Cafe Chocolate for letting us get ready at their place.

One last shout out to Kate Shirk, photo student from PCA&D, for letting me use one of her images for a textured file. I love the swirls.
Pennsylvania College of Art and Design : Guest Speaking
February 11, 2011I feel honored to have been asked back by Matthew Lester to speak in his PCA&D digital photography class. His class was great, really made me feel welcome. Super intelligent questions and very eager to learn the business side of photography. They all have the fire for photography and I wish them the best.

Here’s a photo Matthew took of me. I don’t know what I’m doing with my hands. Maybe fireball?
